How Paris Hilton Sleeps at Night
Prior to the pandemic, Paris Hilton was traveling 250 days a year. But the upside to all that time on the road as a DJ and entrepreneur? She’s a bonafide sleep pro. “I can sleep anywhere: planes, trains, wherever. I always bring a bag with me that has three pillows, my blanket, earplugs, eye mask—I have my whole bag of sleeping accessories,” she says.
Sleep hasn’t always been easy for Hilton. “I used to have severe nightmares since I was teenager and severe insomnia basically my whole life. But now in the past year since I released my documentary This is Paris and talked about [my trauma], I no longer have nightmares,” she says. “When you hold any trauma in, it will affect you. As soon as I spoke about it, I felt like I had released it. Using my platform and my voice to stop it from happening to other children, it’s been very healing and that's been amazing for my sleep.”
These days, sleep is a huge priority. “In order to give my best in everything I do, sleep is one of the most important parts of my routine,” Hilton says. To wind down at the end of a long day, Hilton and her fiancé Carter Reum have a Netflix routine. “We are watching this new show that we just found called Manifest, which we love. I also watch The Simple Life. It’s so funny,” Hilton says. “Carter thinks it’s hilarious. He doesn’t really watch reality TV, he runs a venture capital fund and is a very serious businessperson, so it's funny to watch him watching it.”
We chatted with Hilton about the products that have helped transform her sleepless nights into relaxing evenings and the steps she’s taking to wake up well rested.
My nighttime routineI take baths every morning and every night before I go to bed. I love having lavender bath salts or something like that to make me feel relaxed. When I get out of the bath, I do my whole skincare routine. I love U Beauty. Their Super Hydrator is amazing. I use that every single night and morning. I love using these eye masks from ToGoSpa and by 111SKIN. Barbara Sturm, I love her Eye Cream and Hyaluronic Serum. I also use Sunday Riley’s LUNA Sleeping night oil and C.E.O. Brightening Serum.

I really believe in light therapy. It has a lot of amazing positive effects for your skin and helps with building collagen and keeping your skin glowing and beautiful.

And if I want to be comfortable, I wear silk pajamas or I have this big comfy fluffy robe by this brand called Wrapped in a Cloud that I have in like every color because it’s my favorite.

My latest sleep techDuring the pandemic, I started working with a sleep doctor, Dr. Michael Breus, to learn more about normalizing my sleep. I’ve been paying attention to how well I’ve been sleeping by using the Oura Ring. I love how you can kind of gamify sleeping—every morning you wake up and go on the app and you see how much sleep you got, how much of it was REM, when you woke up in the middle of the night, etc.
