Check your pantry: Certain boxes of a popular pancake and waffle mix have been recalled, the Food and Drug Administration shared today.

On Tuesday, the Quaker Oats Company issued a voluntary recall of two-pound boxes of Pearl Milling Company Original Pancake & Waffle mix. The limited number of affected boxes, which was not disclosed, may contain undeclared milk, the company said.

No allergic reactions associated with the recall have been reported, but Quaker Oats said people with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk may be at risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the pancake mix.

Only specific boxes of Pearl Milling Company Original Pancake & Waffle Mix have been recalled; no other Quaker Oats or Pearl Milling Company products are affected by the recall.

According to the recall notice, shoppers would have been able to purchase the pancake mix beginning on Nov. 18, 2024. The product is no longer on store shelves, but would have been available for purchase in the following states:

  • Arkansas
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Kansas
  • Kentucky
  • Minnesota
  • Mississippi
  • Nebraska
  • Utah
  • Wisconsin

Customers who may have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk should not consume the pancake and waffle mix, and should throw the box away immediately, Quaker Oats said. Consumers can also contact Quaker Consumer Relations at 1-800-407-2247 from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday, if they think they might have purchased a recalled product.
