What You Should Do

If you recently purchased cheese from Wegmans, check to see if your item is part of the recall. If it is, throw it out immediately. If you've already consumed the cheese, watch for signs of a Listeria infection.

In healthy adults, Listeria can cause:

  • High fever
  • Severe headache
  • Stiffness
  • Nausea
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea

Certain groups—young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems—are at higher risk for severe illness from a Listeria infection.
