She will not be taking a role in her father's administration.
Ashley Biden, Future First Daughter, Just Gave Her First-Ever TV Interview
Future first daughter Ashley Biden is opening up ahead of Joe Biden's inauguration on Wednesday, January 20. She sat down with former first daughter Jenna Bush to discuss her thoughts on her dad's upcoming term as president and how she will not follow in current first daughter Ivanka Trump's footsteps.
Ashley explained that although she's spent years working as a social worker and public advocate, she isn't planning to hold an official position in her father's administration. (Ivanka Trump currently serves as adviser to the president.) “I will, however, hopefully, use this platform to advocate for social justice, for mental health, to be involved in community development and revitalization,” she said in the Today interview. “I do hope to bring awareness and education to some topics, subjects that are really important.”
President Donald Trump already announced that he will not attend Biden's inauguration. Melania Trump is also reportedly breaking protocol when it comes to meeting with the new first lady, Jill Biden. Ashley called it “unfortunate” but admitted that her family is “okay with it.”

Ashley Biden appeared alongside her nieces, Naomi, Finnegan, Maisy, and Natalie, for part of the interview with Bush. She also spoke about her parents' integrity and how she's tried to shield herself from the media. “I know—you know—the type of man my father is, and the woman my mother is and the man my brother is,” she said. “The cruelty and the meanness, that’s why I don't have a social media account that's public. Part of it is also having boundaries for myself, because I believe in kindness, and I believe in the humanity of all of us.”
