“The cat is out of the bag—literally out of the bag.”
Britney Spears Gave an On-Camera Update About Her Conservatorship Situation
Britney Spears gave her first on-camera update about her conservatorship situation.
The pop icon posted a selfie video to Instagram on August 5, and in it she said, “Okay, so I'm sure a lot of you guys are wondering how I'm doing. And since the cat is out of the bag—literally out of the bag—and you guys know my situation, I do want to let you guys know things are way better than what I ever anticipated."
In true Brit Brit fashion, she then playfully answered some non-conservatorship-related questions. She revealed her favorite clothing store is J. Crew, her favorite Miley Cyrus song is “We Can't Stop," and that she prefers Regular Lay's potato chips over Baked Lay's. Oh, and her favorite scented lotion is vanilla. Good to know!

She captioned the video, “Since this beautiful world 🌎 makes it so easy to share with you guys ... I’m here today trying to matter like all of us do on any given Thursday 🙄🤷🏼♀️🤪 ... have a good day beautiful people ☀️ !!!!”
Britney Spears's conservatorship case has made major progress over the past few weeks. She was granted the right to hire her own attorney, Mathew S. Rosengart, who's since called for the immediate removal of Spears's father, Jamie, as her conservator.
“Coming along, folks ... coming along 🖕🏻!!!!! New with real representation today ...,” Spears wrote on Instagram in July after she hired Rosengart. “I feel GRATITUDE and BLESSED !!!! Thank you to my fans who are supporting me ... You have no idea what it means to me be supported by such awesome fans !!!! God bless you all !!!!! Pssss this is me celebrating by horseback riding and doing cartwheels today 🤸♂️🤷♀️🐎 !!!!" She then used the hashtag #FreeBritney for the first time.
