Celebs and Their Famous Doppelgangers: Daniel Radcliffe and Elijah Wood, Katy Perry and Zooey Deschanel and More
Seeing double! From Zooey Deschanel and Katy Perry to Daniel Radcliffe and Elijah Wood, even the biggest Hollywood stars have doppelgängers.
The celebrity look-alikes that are hard to tell apart include The OC alum Adam Brody and You star Penn Badgley, as well as Isla Fisher and Amy Adams. Fisher joked in April 2021 that she hadn’t recently been mistaken for the Enchanted star — but blamed the coronavirus pandemic for the lack of confusion.
Bryce told Entertainment Tonight that her father was “shook” after he accidentally mistook the Scenes From a Marriage alum for his own daughter. “At first he was like, ‘You really look so much alike.’ And I mean, obviously, I’m incredibly flattered, so it’s great,” the Jurassic World actress said in 2019. “Although something is wrong when people stop mistaking me for her. I’ll be like, ‘Gotta get it together.'”
These are some of the more obvious examples of Hollywood mistaken identity — but there are other actors whose similarities are far more discrete. For instance, Ryan Reynolds and Kate Beckinsale. During an October 2019 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Serendipity star mentioned that Reynolds was her celebrity twin, joking that the resemblance was “shocking.”
Two months later, the Free Guy star later agreed with Beckinsale’s assessment, telling Today, when he saw her “it was like looking in a mirror.”

Bobby Cannavale and Brad Garrett
It’s not uncommon for the Will & Grace alum to be mistaken for the former Everybody Loves Raymond star on the street. In fact, Cannavale told Jimmy Fallon in December 2021 that the project he’s most recognized for is Garrett’s CBS sitcom.
“You know I was not on Everybody Loves Raymond,” Cannavale joked during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I had nothing to do with that show. If this could help me to have 10 less people stop me and say, ‘We love you on Everybody Loves Raymond’ that would be great for my life.”
He added, “I’m always like, ‘He’s really a lot taller than me. He’s the nicest guy, but I’m just not him.’”

Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard
“It’s funny: When I don’t wear makeup, nobody ever mistakes me for Jess, but whenever I put makeup on and look half-presentable, it’s, ‘Ah! Jessica Chastain’” Howard (right) has said of her The Help costar Chastain. “I’m like, ‘Thank you, I must look hygienic today.’”

Hilary Swank and Jennifer Garner
Swank told Conan O’Brien in 2018 that she sometimes signs autographs as Garner— but it’s only to keep people from badmouthing the Alias alum.
"They actually said, 'Don't be a bitch,'" the Million Dollar Baby actress noted of some foul-mouthed fans. "I didn't want to give her a bad name, so I took a photo with them. Maybe someone will say some day, 'That's not Jennifer Garner.'"

Susan Sarandon and Sigourney Weaver
At the 2016 Glamour Women of the Year Awards, the Thelma & Louise star joked that she and the Ghostbusters actress had spent years pretending to be the other. “I have taken credit for Alien many times and she’s signed autographs for me,” Sarandon admitted at the time.

Mike Johnson and Jake From State Farm
Bachelor Nation was shook in October 2020 when the Bachelorette alum met his doppelgänger Jake, who stars in the State Farm commercials.
“This is the best thing I've seen all year,” Tyler Cameron commented on their Instagram selfie.
Nick Viall added, “This is very good.”

Melissa McCarthy and Amy Schumer
The Spy star recalled being mistaken for Schumer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in February 2020 while filming a previous hidden-camera prank for the talk show. The bit involved McCarthy pretending to faint at a local dry cleaner and one woman thought she was a dead ringer for the I Feel Pretty star.
“What I heard right before [they called] 911 was: ‘Amy Schumer’s gone down! Amy Schumer’s on the ground!' And I was like, ‘Hey,'” McCarthy said. “She called me Amy Schumer — which to me was my favorite part, what a compliment — but she called me Amy Schumer four or five times.”

Kate Beckinsale and Ryan Reynolds
The Underworld star called Reynolds her doppelgänger in an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in October 2019. “I look exactly like Ryan Reynolds,” she said at the time. “Like in a shocking way. Like, when sometimes I see a bus going by with a poster on it I think, ‘Damn, I look hot. Oh, wait, that’s not me. Also, I’ve never done that movie.'”
Reynolds agreed on the Today show in December 2019 saying that looking at Beckinsale is ”like looking in a mirror.”

Rupert Grint and Ed Sheeran
“It’s kinda 50/50 now," the Harry Potter star said on The Late Late Show With James Corden in March 2017. "It’s like if someone stops me, it could go either way. I could be Ed or I could be me."

John Stamos and Rob Lowe
The Fuller House star posted a video in May 2016 of a confused fan who thought he was Rob Lowe and tagged it #AwkwardVacationMoments. In the clip, Stamos asked the woman, “What’s my name?” to which she replied, “Rob Lowe.” Stamos jokingly confirmed he was the Brothers & Sisters alum, “That’s right, yeah. Alright.”

Darren Criss and Kit Harington
The Glee alum shared a photo of a fan who mistook him for the Game of Thrones actor via Instagram in January 2016. "'Hey... Are you Kit Harington?' Me: aw sorry man I'm not 'Aw cuz if you were I'd kick myself if I didn't ask for a picture.' [he goes, disappointed] Me: wait, can I get a picture though? To commemorate this moment?" Criss captioned the snap.
