Seeing double! From Zooey Deschanel and Katy Perry to Daniel Radcliffe and Elijah Wood, even the biggest Hollywood stars have doppelgängers.
The celebrity look-alikes that are hard to tell apart include The OC alum Adam Brody and You star Penn Badgley, as well as Isla Fisher and Amy Adams. Fisher joked in April 2021 that she hadn’t recently been mistaken for the Enchanted star — but blamed the coronavirus pandemic for the lack of confusion.
Bryce told Entertainment Tonight that her father was “shook” after he accidentally mistook the Scenes From a Marriage alum for his own daughter. “At first he was like, ‘You really look so much alike.’ And I mean, obviously, I’m incredibly flattered, so it’s great,” the Jurassic World actress said in 2019. “Although something is wrong when people stop mistaking me for her. I’ll be like, ‘Gotta get it together.'”
These are some of the more obvious examples of Hollywood mistaken identity — but there are other actors whose similarities are far more discrete. For instance, Ryan Reynolds and Kate Beckinsale. During an October 2019 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Serendipity star mentioned that Reynolds was her celebrity twin, joking that the resemblance was “shocking.”
Two months later, the Free Guy star later agreed with Beckinsale’s assessment, telling Today, when he saw her “it was like looking in a mirror.”

Bobby Cannavale and Brad Garrett
It’s not uncommon for the Will & Grace alum to be mistaken for the former Everybody Loves Raymond star on the street. In fact, Cannavale told Jimmy Fallon in December 2021 that the project he’s most recognized for is Garrett’s CBS sitcom.
“You know I was not on Everybody Loves Raymond,” Cannavale joked during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I had nothing to do with that show. If this could help me to have 10 less people stop me and say, ‘We love you on Everybody Loves Raymond’ that would be great for my life.”
He added, “I’m always like, ‘He’s really a lot taller than me. He’s the nicest guy, but I’m just not him.’”

Mulaney tweeted in 2015 that he had been mistaken for The Flash star at the airport. “Dubai customs asked if I was you,” the comedian wrote. “They were super disappointed when I wasn’t.”

The Westworld actress shared a few photos of her hanging out with the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star in 2018 to prove they were two different people. “@rachelbrosnahan and I were in the same room and are not actually the same person. 😂😂🎀💗,” she joked via Instagram. “P.S. She’s awesome.”

Swank told Conan O’Brien in 2018 that she sometimes signs autographs as Garner— but it’s only to keep people from badmouthing the Alias alum.

The Spy star recalled being mistaken for Schumer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in February 2020 while filming a previous hidden-camera prank for the talk show. The bit involved McCarthy pretending to faint at a local dry cleaner and one woman thought she was a dead ringer for the I Feel Pretty star.
“What I heard right before [they called] 911 was: ‘Amy Schumer’s gone down! Amy Schumer’s on the ground!' And I was like, ‘Hey,'” McCarthy said. “She called me Amy Schumer — which to me was my favorite part, what a compliment — but she called me Amy Schumer four or five times.”

Like, when sometimes I see a bus going by with a poster on it I think, ‘Damn, I look hot. Oh, wait, that’s not me. Also, I’ve never done that movie.'”
Reynolds agreed on the Today show in December 2019 saying that looking at Beckinsale is ”like looking in a mirror.”
