My heart!
Emma Corrin Gave a Sweet Shoutout to Princess Diana at the Golden Globes
Emma Corrin took home the Golden Globe Sunday night, February 28, for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama for her performance as Princess Diana in The Crown. In her speech, she was sure to give a special shoutout to the iconic royal, saying, “Thank you so much to Diana. You have taught me compassion and empathy beyond any measure that I could ever imagine. On behalf of everyone who remembers you so wonderfully and passionately in our hearts, thank you.”
Corrin received critical acclaim for her Princess Diana portrayal on The Crown. “Because of the amount of research and work you do to get into these characters, it had been a long time I had to prepare,” Corrin told Glamour. “I got the part in March 2019, and we started filming in September 2019. So I felt ready.”

She also told The Guardian about playing Princess Diana, “Though I’m sad I only did one series, I always knew that was all I was signing on for, and I played [Princess Diana] from 16 to 28. I took her from girl to woman, and I loved that arc. But I’m also quite pleased to move on.”
So what will Corrin do after The Crown? One thing that's for sure: She's interested in writing and producing her own roles.
“I met a producer at a festival last year, and she said, ‘You will find as you get older that there might not be parts; there aren’t always roles for women out there that are any good,’” she told The Guardian. “I do whatever I can to resist changing anything about myself for the satisfaction of other people.”
Congratulations on your Golden Globes win, Emma Corrin. I'm still doing double-takes over just how much you looked like Princess Diana on The Crown!
