Eva Mendes Hits Back at Claims She Had Plastic Surgery and Isn't ‘Happy With It’

“I’m not sure why I’m answering you.”

Actor and designer Eva Mendes has no time for random strangers on Instagram who claim to know what she's doing to her face or on her phone.

The interaction in question started pleasantly enough. On January 30, Mendes posted a picture of herself and a friend with a sweet birthday message. A fan asked why she hasn't been as active on Instagram lately, and Mendes answered, “Hi. I’m actually taking time to really be present with my family, so posting is not really a priority right now. Hoping you and yours are well.” So far, so sweet! But under that same comment, another Instagram user wrote (in a now-deleted reply that was captured by Page Six), "She’s had work done and I don’t think she’s happy with it.. She was beautiful without.”

Even though it ends on what seems like a compliment, making snide comments about other people's faces is never appropriate, and speculating about procedures is wrong. We are beautiful whatever we do or don't do to our faces, and Mendes wasn't about to let this icky comment slip by. She responded, “Mmmm. I’m not sure why I’m answering you, but here I go. I’m posting less because I really want to be present for my family. My little ones need me, and posting takes up too much time. As far as getting work done, I’ll do that whenever I please. But no, that’s not the reason. The reason is I personally cannot juggle family and social media. So -big shocker -I choose family. Lotsa love to you out there.” Hell yes, Eva Mendes.

Mendes clearly isn't shaming anyone who does get work done, and she also made it clear she's not judging parents who are active on social media. In another response, she wrote, “Some people can juggle both [family and social media posting], and that’s great, but I can’t. Anyway, speaking of not [being] able to juggle both, need to go be with them now. They’re in the other room and being too quiet. That’s never good. Ha! ❤️‼️”

Great attitude, great answer.
