Fans Think Jennifer Lopez Gave Back a Major Birthday Gift From Alex Rodriguez

“Looks like JLo left not only you but the red car too😂😂.”

Jennifer Lopez may have left more than a fiancé when she ended her five-year relationship with Alex Rodriguez.

On August 18, Rodriguez posted a photo in a tan suit in front of three colorful cars. “I’m super down to earth,” he wrote in the caption, showing off his sense of humor as well as his fleet. But fans of the former baseball player noticed something else.

According to Us Weekly, some of his followers believe the red sports car is the brand-new 2019 red Porsche 911 GT3 Rodriguez bought Lopez for her 50th birthday. “Savage. Posing with the car he bought jlo for her bday lmfaoÂ đŸ€Ł,” one user commented, while another wrote, “Looks like jlo left not only you but the red car too😂😂.”

“I thought you gave that red Porche [sic] to
nevermind,” another fan joked.

In July 2019, TMZ reported that Rodriguez presented the car to Lopez with a big yellow bow in Miami. Just a few days later, the baseball player posted a birthday tribute to the Hustlers star, confirming the lavish birthday present. “What do you get someone who already has everything,” he said in the video. “You have to be creative. We’ve been talking about maybe a car.”

“We’re buying Jennifer a car, but she doesn’t drive and she hasn’t driven in 25 years,” he continued, before fast-forwarding to the big reveal. Lopez, who was blindfolded, asked, “What are you doing? Papi, what are you doing?”

On her own Instagram, Lopez posed with the car, writing, “Baby, it's warm outside.” She tagged Rodriguez as the photographer, one of the few remnants of his presence on her account since she unfollowed her ex and deleted most of their photos together from her feed.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez broke off their engagement in April 2021, releasing a joint statement to Today. “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,” they said at the time. “We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”

Earlier this week Rodriguez reflected on their split in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying, “I had five years of an incredible life and partnership and also with my daughters. We learned so much.”
