Fans Think Taylor Swift Addressed Her Friendship With Karlie Kloss in New 'Evermore' Song
In case you missed it: Taylor Swift just dropped two bonus tracks from her album, Evermore, onto streaming. (The songs were previously only available on physical copies of the album.) If you’re like, “Wait, what?" that’s because she did literally zero promotion for the songs—probably because the, uh, political news has been so much lately.
Whatever her strategy, “Right Where You Left Me” and “It’s Time to Go”—both breakup-y slow songs—are now available on Spotify, YouTube, and other online outlets. Of course, fans are furiously digging through the lyrics for hidden meanings, and they seem to have decided “It’s Time to Go” is about Swift’s falling out with her former best friend, Karlie Kloss.
“When the words of a sister come back in whispers / That prove she was not in fact what she seemed / Not a twin from your dreams / She’s a crook who was caught,” sings Swift on the first verse of the track, perhaps a reference to when she and the model were inseparable.
Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss haven’t addressed the rumored dissolution of their friendship publicly, but many fans think it could have something to do with Kloss’s connection to Scooter Braun (he’s her manager). Braun, don’t forget, bought then sold the masters of Swift’s first six albums, sparking a public clash between the two.
Here’s what the Swifties are saying on Twitter:

For what it’s worth, the very first line in “Right Where You Left Me,” the other new bonus track, could also be about Kloss and Swift’s friendship. “Friends break up, friends get married,” Swift says. Well, isn’t that what Kloss did? She married Joshua Kushner back in 2018—making Kloss the sister-in-law to Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump. That’s been the other reason why she’s in the news this week. I’ll just leave this here:
