‘Ginny & Georgia’ Season 2 Is Happening—Here’s Everything We Know
Ginny & Georgia fans, rejoice: A second season is officially happening.
Netflix announced the news on Monday, April 19. “We are so appreciative of the incredible response and love you all have shown Ginny & Georgia. We're especially grateful to Brianne and Toni, who set the highest bar every step of the way. We can’t wait to return to Wellsbury for season two,” showrunner and executive producer Debra J. Fisher and creator and executive producer Sarah Lampert said in a statement.
Brianne and Toni are Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry, who play the titular mother-daughter duo Ginny and Georgia. If you watched the first season, you know all about what went down, but for the unfamiliar, Netflix's official description reads as follows:
“Angsty and awkward 15-year-old Ginny Miller (Antonia Gentry) often feels she doesn't measure up to her 30-year-old mother, the irresistible and dynamic Georgia Miller (Brianne Howey). Growing up on the move, Georgia desperately wants to put down roots in picturesque New England and give her family something they've never had…a normal life. But it's not all carpool and kombucha as Georgia's past follows them to threaten her and her family's fresh start.”
The show was immediately branded as a companion to Gilmore Girls, but Ginny & Georgia is a bit more angsty and dramatic. Netflix hasn't released many details about season two, but here's what we know so far:
The premiere date. Unknown at this time.
The episode count. Ten new, 60-minute episodes are coming to your queue. Fans will surely gobble them up: Season one reached 52 million households in just 28 days.
Who's returning? Again, unclear at this time, but from Lampert and Fisher's statements, you can definitely expect Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry back on your screens.
We'll keep you posted with more details as they come in.
