A source says Kanye “knows that she’s done” and is bracing for the filing.
Here’s Reportedly Why Kim Hasn’t Filed for Divorce From Kanye Yet
On January 5, news outlets, including Page Six, Us Weekly, People, E!, and TMZ, reported that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are inching toward divorce. Sources say the couple—who share four children: North (seven), Saint (five), Chicago (two), and Psalm (20 months)—have been living separate lives and keeping their divorce plans under wraps.
“They are keeping it low-key, but they are done,” a source told Page Six, the first outlet to report the news. “Kim has hired [divorce lawyer] Laura Wasser and they are in settlement talks.” The insider added that “Kim got Kanye to go up there [Wyoming] so they could live separate lives and quietly get things sorted out to separate and divorce. She’s done."
Here’s everything we know about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s divorce rumors:
They reportedly haven’t been living as a married couple for “months.”
“It's gotten to the point where they haven't spent time together as a married couple in months,” a source told E!. “They've seen each other for the sake of the kids but have been living separately. Kim knows the marriage is over. She's known for a while.”
West made an appearance at Kardashian’s birthday party in November (and gifted her a hologram of her late father), but a source told Page Six he “showed up and left early…. He wouldn’t appear in any of their Instagram shots. All he did was bring over the hologram of her father, Robert Kardashian, then got out of there as fast as he could.”
What happened, exactly?
The specific cause of this maybe-divorce is unclear at this time, but a source who spoke to Us Weekly says the couple "had big fight in early December. Kanye blew up at Kim and she was really upset. Things between them don’t seem to have healed since that.”
They’re allegedly in couples counseling.
People reports Kardashian hasn't filed for divorce yet, but West is “bracing himself” for it to happen. “He knows that she’s done. She has had enough, and she told him that she wants some space to figure out her future,” a source told People. “He’s okay. He’s sad, but okay. He knows the inevitable will happen, and he knows that it’s coming soon.”
That being said, the outlet reports there is a chance the couple could salvage things. “Kim and Kanye are in counseling and exploring their options,” a source also told People. “They have been working on their marriage for a long time, but no decision has been made.”
“It’s not over yet. They are still trying to see if the marriage can be saved,” a source revealed to People, as well.
Meanwhile, an insider told told E! that Kardashian hasn't filed because she’s concerned about how it will affect North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. “She wants to make sure she's making the right decision for the kids,” the source said. “It's not about the marriage anymore…. Kim is only focused on what's best for the kids. It's a tough decision for her and she's figuring it out.”
Us Weekly is also reporting Kardashian hasn't filed because she wants settlements done first. “Kim wants the divorce settlement finalized before formally filing,” a source told the outlet. “Settlement talks are ongoing. Kim wants to control the P.R. campaign of the divorce, and she was blindsided by leaks about the divorce reports.”
They’re reportedly fighting over their Calabasas house.
“Kim is trying to get Kanye to turn over the Calabasas house to her because that’s where the kids are based and growing up. That is their home,” a source told Page Six. “She owns all the land and adjoining lots around the house, but Kanye owns the actual house. They’ve both put a lot of money into renovating it.”
West is allegedly “over” the Kardashians.
He “is completely over the entire family…. He wants nothing to do with them," a source told Page Six, adding he grew to find their reality show “unbearable.” Ouch.
Kardashian’s family is supporting her.
“Kris Jenner and Kim’s sisters are being as supportive as possible,” a source told People. “They’ve seen Kim struggle over the last year and ultimately just want both her and Kanye to be happy, however that may look.”
