Hi, Pandemic-Approved Galentine’s Day Party Ideas Are Here. You're Welcome.

Ladies first. ALWAYS. 👏

Christmas is great, Halloween is fun, and New Year's Eve is overrated (I said what I said). But there will never be a celebration like Galentine’s Day.

You can’t tell me there’s anything better than getting all of your BFFs together for a night filled with laughing, a bit of tea-spilling, bottles and bottles of vino, and endless amounts of food (of the junk variety, preferably). Just ask the ultimate best friend herself, Leslie Knope! She knew what was up. And even though your festivities may look a bit different this year, it’s still possible to have this party!

But if you’re still stressing TF out about how to pull off a shindig during these times, do not fret, my friend! All you’ve gotta do is text anyone you've ever loved and cared for and let them know that they are absolutely booked on February 13th—and we'll do the heavy lifting. Peep the list I’ve curated below on how to pull off the BEST Galentine’s Day you and your squad has ever had. Even during a pandemic

1. Choose a theme.

Yes, you’re having a Galentine’s Day party, but picking a more specific theme will let you zero in on tiny details and make the get-together even more exciting. Plus, getting dressed up (or down) for a themed event is the damn best.

Some ideas for ya:

  • Pajama party: Everyone wears…PJs.
  • Babes and bubbles: Everyone drinks too much prosecco.

    2. Pick a signature cocktail.

I appreciate a complex drink more than anyone, but when you’re hosting a party where your guests make their own, simplicity is just as important as taste.

Mix up a Match Made in Haven:

    • 2 oz. RumHaven
    • 2 oz. pineapple juice
    • 2 oz. Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice

Add all ingredients into an ice-filled glass, stir to combine, and chill.

      3. Invest in (themed, duh) balloons.

Blow these babies up and tape 'em over your bar cart or just put them in front of a fan to have them aimlessly move in the background of your Zoom screen. We can practically see the Insta Stories now.

      4. Make personalized goodie bags.

If your love language is gift-giving, then you'll be all over this. Grab some cute festive bags and fill them up with things your friends like! Try to add specific items each friend would be obsessed with so they know how much you care. Send them in the mail before your party so your "guests" can open over Zoom or Facetime.

      5. Have a bake-off.

Yes, you can do this guy virtually! There's nothing like a friendly competition where everybody technically wins! (Unless you're REALLY not that good in the kitchen, LOL.) Come up with a recipe and see who makes the best-looking, best-tasting version.

      6. Do a paint and sip night.

Grab a bottle or seven of your fave boozy drink, some paint supplies, and an image to replicate. Maybe something related to the word love, like Pizza? The Duke of Hastings? Get creative!

      7. Get a karaoke machine.

If you're with your quarantine pod, all practice safe social-distancing, and maybe get a test beforehand, belting out your favorite jams with your BFFs as if y'all were Little Mix is your reward. There's really no feeling like it! Thank me later.

      8. Assign everyone a Secret Cupid.

It’s like Secret Santa but for G-Day. Everyone picks a name out of a hat and shows up on Galentine’s Day with a gift, just like Cupid. Except, bring her a gift she actually wants—like this cute desk humidifier.

      9. Just do all the face masks.

If spilling the hot goss with a sheet mask plastered to your face is wrong, I don’t want to be right. Worth noting: You don’t have to put these on right away. They make great party favors.

      10. Play a game.

It’s basically a mashup of Truth or Dare, Never Have I Ever, and Senior Superlatives with cards that read like they’re literally made for you guys. It’s a guaranteed good time.

      11. Organize a wine swap.

Everybody brings a wrapped bottle and picks a number. Number one picks any bottle, number two can steal that bottle or pick a new one. Repeat until everyone has a bottle. Oh, and only two steals allowed per bottle. Everyone goes home with a new brand of vino—if you don’t pop them open before the night’s over, that is. And we PROMISE they'll love any type of wine from the Uncorked by Cosmo line.

      12. Watch a classic.

If ya wanna go really on brand, stream a movie about friendship. May I suggest Sex and the City: The Movie? Psst, it's on Netflix so you can hold a watch party there!

      13. Mix some pink drinks.

A signature cocktail will only go so far. Stock your bar with ingredients to whip up the prettiest drink ever. This recipe for rosé wine cocktail spritzers should do the trick!

      • 1 bottle rosé wine, chilled
      • 24 oz. lemon-lime soda
      • 3 raspberries
      • 1 lemon, juiced
      • Sugar for glasses

Put the lemon juice in a bowl and dip your glass’s rim in it. Then dip it in a bowl of sugar. Then drop the raspberries in. Fill ¼ of the glass with soda and the rest with rosé. Recipe from Luci’s Morsels.

        14. Take Polaroids.

Yes, even of your Zoom screen. Go old-school and document the night with a Polaroid cam. Psst, they can double as decor or party favors.

        15. Eat heart-shaped pizza.

Besides being delicious, they look adorbs and actually aren’t that hard to make. If you wanna get super extra, you can even make lil pepperoni hearts. (If it doesn’t work out, you can always order Domino’s.)

        16. Hand out Galentines.

Send each of your gals off with a note about why you love ’em so much (the cornier, the better). That’s what this day is all about, remember?
