Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo Just Had a ‘13 Going on 30’ Reunion
Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo (or should we say Jenna and Matt?) are reuniting on the set of their new movie The Adam Project. Garner and Ruffalo are known for playing love interests in the popular romantic comedy 13 Going on 30, and now they're gearing up to play a married couple in this new sci-fi film.
“Reconnecting with an old pal,” Ruffalo captioned a selfie with Garner. “Anyone know where we can get Razzles in Canada?” Garner posted the same photo with the caption, “Wishing dust worked! And I got a perfect day with my old pal.”
Their posts combined received almost 3 million likes, so it's safe to say that fans are excited to see the actors together again. “30 year-olds (who are secretly 13 year-olds) everywhere are swooning. Matty and Jenna forever. 🙌🏼,” one fan commented on Ruffalo's post. Another fan answered Ruffalo's question: “Sticky’s Candy has Razzles in Canada! Welcome!”
Both of their captions reference details from the rom-com, which is 17 years old this year, by the way. Seventeen years! In the 2004 movie, a 13-year-old Jenna accidentally travels forward in time to become a “30 (year-old), flirty, and thriving” magazine editor. She and Matt are best friends when they're teenagers, eat Razzles, and walk home from school together. But in the future, they're practically strangers. They, of course, reconnect as adults, fall in love, and the rest is history.
It's important to point out that the storyline of Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo's new film also includes time travel. They play parents to Ryan Reynolds's character. He plays a man who travels back in time to his 13-year-old self! I mean, you can't make this stuff up. Well, you can because someone wrote the screenplay, but you get what I mean. The similarities make me want to believe that The Adam Project is really just 13 Going on 30, part two. What? A girl can dream.
