The first size-inclusive collection launches in September.
Lauren Conrad's Kohl's Line Is (Finally!) Expanding Into Plus Sizes
LC Lauren Conrad, Lauren Conrad's namesake line for Kohl's, has been in expansion mode in 2017: This summer the entrepreneur introduced both swimwear and maternity clothing to the brand she's been designing since 2009. Previously, Conrad has described her collections for LC Lauren Conrad as fulfilling wardrobe needs in her own life (hence why she introduced a maternity range when she was expecting her first child). But now she's widening the scope of her mission to include plus-size shoppers.
WWD reports that LC Lauren Conrad will introduce sizes 0X to 3X following the brand's New York Fashion Week presentation on September 6. The collection debuting on the runway is expected to retail from $12 to $154. (Hopefully, in light of this news, we'll also be seeing some size-inclusive casting on Conrad's upcoming catwalk.)
To launch LC Lauren Conrad's inclusive new range, the brand tapped blogger and YouTuber Loey Lane to star in its latest lookbook, wearing some of the festive looks set to debut during NYFW. "Plus is a category I wanted to get into for a really long time," the designer told WWD. In the pieces she dreams up for the runway, Conrad says she's able "to take more risks," which then inform the other collections released throughout the year. As far as what you can expect from the new LC Lauren Conrad capsule, brace yourself for some holiday-ready velvet, metallics, and faux fur.
A few other Kohl's-exclusive brands, like Jennifer Lopez and Simply Vera Vera Wang, already offer inclusive sizing. Mark your calendars for September 6—NYFW just got a whole lot more interesting.
