Here's why.
New Mom Katy Perry Says Stories About Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr's Son Help Her
Katy Perry is an international superstar and an American Idol judge, but her favorite job is being a mom to her daughter, Daisy. On February 8, Perry had a night off from mom duty and made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The “Teenage Dream” singer got candid about welcoming her baby girl and how's adjusting to being a new mom. Her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, is an experienced dad since he shares his 10-year-old son, Flynn, with ex Miranda Kerr.
“It's the best decision that I've ever made in my entire life,” Perry told Kimmel about choosing to have a baby with Bloom. “I have family and support, and I've got an incredible fiancé who's done this before. He has a 10-year-old son."
Bloom's stories about baby Flynn are actually helping her. “So, as much as I was a little bit like I don't need to hear all those stories… They actually helped," she said. "'Oh, you've had a run at this. You know how to do this.' He's been amazing, incredible, and we're so in love and we're so grateful."
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom welcomed Daisy Dove Bloom in August 2020 after meeting in January 2016 and getting engaged on Valentine's Day in 2019. She released her album, Smile, around the time she gave birth.
Perry said that Bloom wasn't restricted by COVID-19 guidelines from being with her in the delivery room. “He was such great support. We had like a little boom box. He was there and was so wonderful and just like holding my hand and looking into my eyes,” she revealed before adding that they also decided to film the birth. “You want to film it, but you also want to be present so there's a fine line… He was great."
