Peyton List has millions of fans on social media, but when Netflix released the third season of Cobra Kai a week early, on January 3, it was a select group whose reaction meant the most to her. “My mom's friends were all tagging me on Facebook because they never really have been excited about anything I've been on,” the former Disney star (Jessie, Bunk'd) says with a laugh. 

“They all watched Karate Kid and are big fans,” she says of the series, which is set 34 years after the original film. “So my Facebook notifications were going off like crazy. They were like, ‘Don’t worry, we told everyone to watch! We love it is so much!' I'm like, thank you guys, I don't know what I'd do without you!” 

Karate Kid came out 14 years before List, now 22, was born, but she's immersed herself in the martial arts world. “I really like the amount of training and fighting we do, and I'm really starting to like the karate side of it,” she says from her home in Los Angeles. “I don't know if we're having an All-Valley Tournament [in season four], but I hope so because it would be fun to train for.” 

So while List waits to start filming on the newest season, we called her up to play our next installment of Your Faves Faves. Here, she shares her must-have items, from the perfect Zoom makeup essentials to the '80s songs that help clear her mind.

I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pencil or Too Faced's Powder Brow Pencil. Either one is great. Then I’ll brush them up with the Glossier Boy Brow gel, which I love. That full brushed up brow is my favorite thing right now.

My hair is naturally curly and frizzy. It’s huge. I tame it with the Kérastase Ultimate Elixir Oil. I’ve used everything, and it's the only thing that works for really dry ends. I've also noticed hairstylists using Shuga Gel Creme, which is made from yogurt protein. It’s really hydrating and works so well. And Ouidad's Curl Quencher Moisturizing Styling Gel. I love that stuff.

I don’t like to wash my hair everyday, so I’ll usually use Drybar's shower cap. That one works really well. It has a soft lining on the inside, so it’s really nice.

It’s kind of basic, but I like a Lululemon beanie. It saves me. I'll throw my hair in a braid and put the beanie on top. 

I love Levi’s denim flares. Nothing has lifted my butt or made it look better than these. I haven’t been doing any squats lately, so these have saved my butt! I also really love BDG's, which are so wide leg, and just really flattering and comfy. I wear them when I want to wear sweatpants but I can’t.

I first saw these gray soft ones from my best friend’s closet, so I looked them up because they’re that comfy. I thought they were going to be so expensive because they’re so nice, but she got them at Target. They're the Stars Above Women's Perfectly Cozy Wide Leg Lounge Pants, and I swear by them.

Anything without padding, so I’ve been wearing a lot of sports bras. I really like Set Active because they're so comfy and I love their colors, too. I wear them under everything, from hoodies to sweaters.

Tumi. It’s great because if you buy stuff and need more room, it expands, so you can fit lots in. And they have a lifetime warranty. I also love the little pink Away bag. It’s the hard case and really cute, but everyone has it now, so it can be hard to figure out which one is yours at the airport.

The Carry-On

Lately I’ve been throwing on my AirPods and going for a run at sunset. Being able to get outside and look at a pretty view has been saving my mind. I run as fast as I can until I can’t, and then I feel better. Sitting around is just not going to do anything for me. And when I run, I usually listen to a lot of Mac Miller. “The Spins” is my favorite song. I’ve also been listening to a lot of Duran Duran and '80s music, which I'm sure is because of Cobra Kai. It makes me so happy. I also love to throw on Whitney Houston songs.

TikTok. I hate to say it. Actually I love to say it. I have learned so much from that app, especially skincare tricks. The girls are so honest on there when they're reviewing products. It’s like having a bunch of best friends sharing the most solid advice they’ve ever heard. They’ll tell you the best razor, or what to use for hair care. I use the Schick Intuition Sensitive Care Razor because of what they recommended. And I learned to stop using witch hazel on my skin because it’s too drying, and my skin started clearing up.

The Crown. I was so excited to see Princess Diana in this season. My best friend and I binged it right away, and now I’m reading all these articles about the season. Also, Normal People on Hulu. Marianne and Connell's relationship feels so real. I love romance novels. I went through a breakup and then watched it, and it just felt so real.
