Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are in New York City
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in New York City, baby!
You might be wondering, “What are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle doing in the concrete jungle where dreams are made, the home of Carrie Bradshaw?” Well, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may not be senior royals anymore, but on the morning of September 23, they began a New York City tour with a visit to the World Trade Center.
Prince Harry and Markle stopped by One World Observatory at the World Trade Center with Mayor Bill de Blasio, his wife, Chirlane McCray, and their son, Dante de Blasio, as well as New York Governor Kathy Hochel.
Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dressed in black for the visit, likely out of respect for victims of 9/11, which happened 20 years ago this month. Markle wore a black turtleneck with matching wide-legged trousers under a smart coat and pointy-toe heels. She wore her hair pulled back into her signature low bun. Prince Harry attended in a classic suit and tie, and a lot of smiles for the cameras.
Prince Harry and Meghan are visiting New York City for an appearance at the Global Citizen Live event on Saturday, September 25. The couple is participating in the event on the Great Lawn of Central Park “to continue their urgent work with world leaders in the pursuit of global vaccine equity to end the COVID-19 pandemic for everyone, everywhere,” according to Global Citizen.
“The virus does not respect borders, and access to the vaccine cannot be determined by geography. It must be accepted as a basic right for all and that is our starting point,” Prince Harry said on the Vax Live stage in May. While they might be the most famous to make an appearance at the event, they will also be joined by other very famous people: Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, and Doja Cat.
