Prince William and Kate Middleton Reportedly Sent Meghan and Harry’s Baby Girl a Gift

The Cambridges congratulated the Sussexes on their daughter's arrival.

Prince William and Kate Middleton joined the rest of the world in congratulating Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the birth of their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor—but unlike us, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have the family’s shipping address. And like good siblings, they reportedly sent the family a gift. (Everyone else is encouraged to support a charity instead.)

After Lilibet’s birth was announced on Sunday, June 6, a source told Us Weekly that across the pond, Middleton and Prince William had been “informed about the birth and have sent Lilibet a gift.” Unfortunately, this insider didn’t reveal details as to what the gift was, but that just means we have room to speculate. Any guesses, people?

According to a statement put out by the Sussexes’ team on June 6, “Lili was born on Friday, June 4, at 11:40 a.m. in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, C.A. She weighed 7 lb. 11 oz. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home.” So, did Middleton and Prince William get a heads-up about the birth on, say, Saturday? Or did they find out at the same time as everybody else? We’d imagine there was at least a text sent to the royal WhatsApp!

“Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of Lilibet Diana!
The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news,” the royal family’s Instagram account posted, adding, “Lilibet is Her Majesty’s 11th great-grandchild.”

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge posted to their own IG account, “We are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili. Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie.”
