The TV presenter and Oscar winner just took a major step in their relationship.
Renée Zellweger and Ant Anstead Are Now Instagram Official
These days, a pic on the Insta grid means it's real, and it's really real for Renée Zellweger and Ant Anstead.
The recently divorced TV presenter and the two-time Oscar winner have been going strong since June, even appearing on red carpets together, and Anstead acknowledged the undeniably public nature of their relationship in an interview in mid-August. Still, he kept his new girlfriend off his social media feeds…until now.
On August 23, he posted a picture of himself, Zellweger, and Cristy Lee to promote his new show, which Zellweger made a guest appearance on. (It's how they met, actually.) “It’s finally here….The first episode of #CelebrityIOUjoyride is available on @discoveryplus Monday the 23rd!! And it’s the incredibly magical Renee Zellweger. Join @cristylee09 Ren and me as we pay it forward to two amazing men that gave so much to one of Ren’s dearest and closest friends……Xx,” he wrote in the caption.
Did you catch that? Incredibly magical? She's definitely got emojis next to her name in his phone.

Zellweger, though, can't return the favor because the Chicago star isn't on Instagram or any other social media platform (unless there's some Clubhouse account we don't know about). “I think about this a lot. And I think about the way that I grew up and the way that I was raised,” the actor explained in 2019. “My parents are very private people. And we didn’t talk about family things out in public. And I just feel uncomfortable with it."
Rather than share her “real” life, Zellweger prefers to disappear into her roles, and her acting was so convincing that her boyfriend thought she was British before they met, thanks to her impeccable accent in the Bridget Jones movies. In a clip from their IOU episode, Anstead is visibly shocked to learn that the actor is from Texas. A mistake he won't be making again!
