She left the season early.
Sarah From 'The Bachelor' Addresses Rumors She Had a Boyfriend While Filming the Show
Sarah Trott's exit from The Bachelor this season was dramatic, to say the least. After having a phenomenal one-on-one with Matt James, Trott was an undeniable frontrunner; however, the women started resenting her after she monopolized James's time on a group date she wasn't even on. She then snuck in some alone time with James before another woman's one-on-one, upping her unexpected “villain” status even more.
Ultimately, Trott left the show to be with her father, who's battling ALS. But, of course, Bachelor Nation rumors started swirling there was more to the story—perhaps that Trott had a boyfriend while filming.
According to E!, reports suggested Trott was involved with musician Ben Dorman, a.k.a. DJ Bijou, around the time she was on The Bachelor. The outlet says there are photos of Trott, Dorman, and some friends vacationing in Mexico just weeks before she went to shoot The Bachelor.
Trott's team released a statement to E! clarifying things. "Sarah unequivocally did not have a boyfriend before, during or after her appearance on The Bachelor," the message reads. "When she took a trip to Cabo in August 2020, she did so with a group of friends, Ben Dorman being one of them. Ben and Sarah had a fun trip with their mutual friends, and while there may have been some intimate moments between them, it did not lead to a relationship. Sarah went on the trip to Cabo single and came back single, still on her journey to find love, which is why she agreed to go on The Bachelor a month or so later."
The statement continues, "Any photographs or text messages mentioned are taken out of context and a misrepresentation of the circumstances. Ultimately, Sarah left The Bachelor due the deteriorating health of her father and the awful treatment she received from the other cast members, not due to a purported relationship with Ben."
We saw this awful treatment on Trott's last episode of The Bachelor, when the women essentially ganged up on her. Around the time of her exit, she posted a quote to her Instagram that read, “Real queens fix each other's crowns.” A nod to the show's very obvious villain (Queen) Victoria Larson, perhaps?
