I'm a Taylor Swift sun with a Selena Gomez moon.
Spotify Will Now Give You a Birth Chart Reading Based on Your Favorite Songs
According to Spotify, you really are special after all. The streaming platform's latest data-analysis feature is a new in-app campaign called Only You, which analyzes your listening habits à la Spotify Wrapped.
Only You doesn't look for just your top artists, however; instead, it looks at your streaming activities, the order you play artists in, and recent favorites. The most shareable feature is Your Audio Birth Chart, which gives you a reading for your sun, moon, and rising sign based on interpretations of what those sign categories signify. “Your Sun sign details the artist you listened to most over the last six months. Your Moon sign demonstrates an artist you listen to that best shows your emotional or vulnerable side. Your Rising sign brings it all together with an artist you’ve recently connected with,” reads Spotify's description.
Other features include a dream dinner party (make your three selections and enjoy personalized Spotify mixes to soundtrack the fictional meal); artist pairs (two different musicians you listen to who are so different from each other that you're one of the few putting them together); and analysis of musical years you listen to (for me, 1966 and 2012), genres, and times of day.
In a fun twist for friends, you can also try the beta feature Blend, which lets you invite a friend with a Spotify account to create a Blend: “a custom tracklist for the two of you filled with songs you already love—and recommendations combining your listening preferences and tastes,” per Spotify. But if you want to blame your friend for a bad algorithmic choice, you're out of luck; each person's profile pic pops up next to each song.
You can dive into all the features in Spotify's Only You hub from the app. Get ready to let the stars decide your listening fate.
