The Royal Family Photog Shared His Fave Pic of Elizabeth and Philip, and They Look So Happy

I love this.

The royal family is constantly photographed whenever they step foot in public, and royal photographer Chris Jackson is often one of the people behind the lens. In light of Prince Philip's passing on April 9, Jackson has been sharing his favorite photos of the duke and Queen Elizabeth, and he just revealed his all-time number-one.

“Hands-down still my favourite picture of HM The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and The Prince of Wales at an event they clearly enjoy and were so relaxed at, The Braemar Highland Gathering," Jackson wrote on Instagram and Twitter. "This spectacular and friendly event takes place just down the road from The Queen’s summer residence of Balmoral 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🇬🇧.”

Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Camilla Parker Bowles were all in attendance at this particular Braemar Highland Gathering, which happened on September 2, 2006 in Braemar, Scotland.

News of the Duke of Edinburgh's passing was announced via a statement from Buckingham Palace. “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh,” it read. “His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.”

It continued,, “Further announcements will be made in due course. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.”

Both Prince William and Prince Harry released statements about their grandfather. “My grandfather was a man of service, honour, and great humour. He was authentically himself, with a seriously sharp wit, and could hold the attention of any room due to his charm—and also because you never knew what he might say next,” Prince Harry wrote. “He was my grandpa: master of the barbecue, legend of banter, and cheeky right ’til the end.”

Meanwhile, Prince William said, “My grandfather’s century of life was defined by service—to his country and Commonwealth, to his wife and Queen, and to our family. I feel lucky to have not just had his example to guide me, but his enduring presence well into my own adult life – both through good times and the hardest days."
