It's like a filter in real life.
This Luminizing Concealer Makes My Skin Look Totally Airbrushed
I generally think about my makeup bag as a rotating cast of characters, since I'm always on the hunt for the Next Best Thing. However, the Hourglass Vanish Concealer has managed to unexpectedly make itself the lone series regular in my collection—and the only product I've actually replenished in a year.
Although I'm willing to try just about anything, like a true Taurus, my standards of what I use on a regular basis are pretty high, especially when it comes to complexion products. After a decade of dealing with cystic acne, I've come to treat foundation and concealer like my security blankets, and expect cashmere-level quality from them.
I need my concealer to cover what it needs to cover—acne, scarring, and insomnia-induced dark circles—while still looking weightless and natural. I dislike the look of heavy makeup almost as much as I dislike my bare skin, so it has to look seamless and natural. I also refuse to use two different concealers for my dark circles and pimples since my vanity is chaotic enough as it is, so it has to be able to work on both under-eyes and flaky pimples.
The Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer is one of the only formulas I've found that I don't have to compromise on, so I was thrilled to see the rest of our Glamour Beauty Awards judges agreed it's a winner. The highly pigmented formula covers both acne and dark circles with minimal effort, and despite its coverage, it never looks cakey or flat. The shade Creme perfectly disappears into my skin, and it stays put all day long.
While the coverage is great, where this concealer really shines is the finish. The name doesn't lie, it really makes my skin look filtered. It also has a luminous quality that blurs and brightens, without a speck of glitter—if you've ever used the brand's iconic finishing powder, it has a similar effect. Basically, it's the closest to IRL Photoshop a girl can get.
No matter how chaotic my makeup collection gets, it's nice to know I can always count on this concealer to get the job done.
