It's 2008 all over again.
Why Taylor Swift Fans Think Her New Song, ‘You All Over Me,’ Is About Joe Jonas
Taylor Swift released her first from-the-vault song on Friday, March 26. Titled “You All Over Me,” the track (featuring Maren Morris) is classic country Swift, which makes sense, given it was written during her Fearless era in 2008. Of course, with any new Swift release, fans are hard at work trying to decode lyrics and meanings—and a big theory online is “You All Over Me” is about Swift's ex, Joe Jonas, whom she dated in 2008.
The reasoning? Well, the timeline matches up. This song was literally born when Jonas and Swift were dating. Also, lyrics-wise, Swifties are spotting parallels between “You All Over Me” and “Last Kiss,” a Speak Now deep-cut that is hypothesized to also be about Jonas.

Regardless, “You All Over Me” sits nicely alongside Taylor Swift's catalog of emotionally poignant country ballads. It's one of six new songs that will be included in her re-release of Fearless, which drops April 9.
"When I think back on the Fearless album and all that you turned it into, a completely involuntary smile creeps across my face," Swift wrote on social media when she announced the album re-release. "This was the musical era in which so many inside jokes were created between us, so many hugs exchanged and hands touched, so many unbreakable bonds formed. So before I say anything else, let me just say that it was a real honor to get to be a teenager alongside you."
The music icon added, “Fearless was an album full of magic and curiosity, the bliss and devastation of youth. It was the diary of the adventures and explorations of a teenage girl who was learning tiny lessons with every new crack in the facade of the fairytale ending she’d been shown in the movies.”
