Willow Smith Shaved Her Head Onstage While Performing 'Whip My Hair'
Willow Smith recently shaved her head, but it's not just the stunning result that'll wow you.
On July 16, the “Transparent Soul” singer released a special concert on Facebook featuring collaborators Travis Barker and Avril Lavigne in celebration of her new album Lately I Feel Everything. During the concert's final moments, while performing her hit song “Whip My Hair,” Willow sat down and had her hair shaved while playing a truly sick solo on the electric guitar.
The iconic moment occurs around the 46-minute mark:
“I'm thinking about shaving my head during the 'Whip My Hair' performance,” Willow said in a behind-the-scenes clip, per People. "This is gonna be my third time in my life shaving my head. I'm always shaving my head at monumental times in my life, when things are really changing. And this is definitely one of those moments."
Recently, Willow Smith convinced her mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, to shave her head as well. “A gift is pure when it is given from the heart to the right person at the right time and at the right place, and when we expect nothing in return,” she wrote in the caption of a mother-daughter picture, which shows off the result.
Jada shared the entire post to her own page, adding, “Willow made me do it because it was time to let go BUT … my 50’s are bout to be Divinely lit with this shed❣️😜.”

Back in 2018, Jada Pinkett Smith revealed she was dealing with major hair loss during a candid conversation on Red Table Talk. “It’s not easy to talk about it, but I am going to talk about it,” she said, per Allure, recounting a “terrifying” time in her life when her hair started falling out in the shower.
"It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear. That's why I cut my hair, and why I continue to cut it," she continued, later adding, “Taking care of my hair has been a beautiful ritual, as is having the choice to have hair or not."
