Women Are Already Making History at the 2021 Grammys
Female collaborations are dominating the Grammys 2021, which happened Sunday, March 14.
The “Savage” remix by Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé took home the Grammy for Best Rap Performance, making it the first all-women collab to win in that category.
“Rain on Me” by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande also made history as the first all-women collab to win for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Fans, naturally, are hyped over this news—as are the artists themselves. It's a very big night for Megan Thee Stallion. The rapper is nominated for Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best New Artist. She's the favorite to win that last category, and it would be so well-deserved!
Interestingly, Cardi B opted not to submit her and Megan's chart-topping collaboration, “WAP," for a Grammy this year.
“Like I said, [I'm] never pressed for a Grammy, but y’all not gonna take away something that I know I worked my ass off [for], that I deserve,” she told her followers. “If I was pressed for a Grammy I would’ve submitted ‘WAP’ for this year and I didn’t submit it. I don't want to be submitted to award shows until I put out my album because I think my album is so good. It means something.”
