Eye Drops Recalled Over Sterility Issues
More than 75,000 eye care products, distributed nationwide by AvKARE, were recalled over a potential sterility issue.
A Food and Drug Administration audit at BRS Analytical Services, LLC, the pharmaceutical lab that created the products, revealed a potential manufacturing issue. This may lead to products of "unacceptable quality," AvKARE said, with a possible health risk for patients.
On May 6, the FDA gave the recall the second-highest risk level.

Ready-to-Eat Sandwiches and Snacks Linked to Listeria Outbreak
On Saturday, Fresh & Ready Foods voluntarily recalled 86 different ready-made products—including sandwiches, snacks, and pastas—across four states due to potential contamination of Listeria, bacteria that can cause serious foodborne illness.
After a routine inspection, the FDA identified Fresh & Ready Foods as the source of a Listeria outbreak from last year. The outbreak sickened 10 people, who were all hospitalized, in California and Nevada.
